Hi,

I think a section for events that are coming up to do with SEO, marketing etc would be cool. Have maybe a thread for them all and then people can say whether they are going etc.

Personally I don't go to or watch events. I know a few here do, but not many. It would be nice to expand in that direction though. It depends on what the others think I guess.

Any reason why you don't go to any, Admin? There are some good ones about and can usually be quite decent. I'm looking to go to BHW Conference and maybe Pubcon.

@Iamblackhatter - OK, I'll make a thread there about them, cheers.

I'm sure they are interesting, but a lot of the time I feel like these people are just regurgitating the same old stuff in an attempt to earn a few clients and network at the event. I find forums and real data more interesting and worth more to me. I'm also lazy. Strangely, at the web agency I work with we don't network much, we prefer to take clients on genuine merit rather than referrals. The old company I worked for networked like crazy and made a lot of money but it was also a lot more hassle.

I'm happy just networking online with people who are genuinely making money through their own personal online business rather than listening to other web agencies. The people on stage make money from helping others make money, they usually have never owned an online business themselves.

I'm genuinely not trying to knock these people, they still have a lot of valid stuff to say, its just currently not my cup of tea. However, more power to them and if some of you event people want to talk a bit more about events then maybe we can sort something out. For now though the wild west is probably the best place, just put the name of the event in the title. I'm happy for anything that enhances the community.

*EDIT*, more i'm thinking about it the more i'm liking it, might sort something soon. If people use it, more power to them!
